Base of Thumb Arthritis

This occurs as the articular cartilage is lost across the joint and therefore the two ends of the bone rub over each other and lead to pain.

Carpal Tunnel

A condition where pressure on one of the main nerves to the hand (the Median nerve) leads to uncomfortable pins and needles sensations in the hand.

Cubital Tunnel

Cubital tunnel syndrome is compression or irritation of the ulnar nerve, which is located in a tunnel on the inside of the elbow.

De Quervain’s Disease

De Quervain’s Disease is synovitis or inflammation around the thumb tendons.

Digital Mucous Cyst

A small fluid-filled cyst that occurs at the end finger joint (DIP joint), on the back of the hand close to the base of the nail.

Dupuytren’s Disease

Dupuytren’s Disease is a genetic condition that can lead to a finger contracture over time.

Finger Arthritis

Finger arthritis develops when the cartilage between the 2 moving bones have been damaged.

Finger Fractures

There are different types of finger fractures, which is when one or more of the bones (phalanges) breaks.

Ganglion Cyst

Ganglion cysts are fluid-filled swellings which usually develop near a finger joint.

Hand Fracture

Fractures of the hand can occur in the small bones of the fingers (phalanges) or the long bones (metacarpals).

Mallet Finger

Mallet finger develops as a result of injury to the tendon (extensor tendon) that inserts to the tip of the finger and straightens the finger.

Metacarpal Fracture

A metacarpal fracture is when one or more of the metacarpal bones are broken.

Rugby Jersey Finger

Rugby Jersey Finger occurs as a tear in one of the four flexor tendons in each finger.

Thumb Ligament Injury

A sprained thumb occurs when the thumb ligaments are stretched beyond their capabilities, sometimes leading to a tear in the ligament.

Trigger Finger
